Governor's Cup Yacht Race to Sail August 5-6

     Annapolis, Md. -- Mariners are advised that the “Governor’s Cup Yacht Race” will be held on the Chesapeake Bay, from 6 p.m. on Friday, August 5 to approximately 4 p.m. on August 6. The annual, overnight 70-mile race consists of up to 150 participating sailboats, starting near the mouth of the Severn River at Annapolis and finishing in the St. Mary’s River at St. Mary’s City. Additional information can be obtained from the St. Mary's College of Maryland Sailing Association website www.smcm.edu/govcup. Interested mariners may contact the Race Committee during the race on marine band radio channel 68 VHF-FM.
