'Tail of the Seahawk' Regatta Coming to St. Mary's River Sunday

     St. Mary's City, Md. -- Mariners are advised that the St. Mary’s College of Maryland will sponsor its annual “Tail of the Seahawk” regatta on the St. Mary’s River on Sunday, October 16, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The rowing competition consists of varsity and club crew teams racing in singles, doubles, 4-person and 8-person rowing shells (24 to 60 feet in length) in various categories and heats along a marked course on the St. Mary’s River, located between Pagan Point and Tippity Wichity Island. Participants will be supported by sponsor-provided motorized safety launches. Official patrol personnel on scene can be contacted on marine band radio channel 16 VHF-FM.
