Historic ships headed to Sparrows Point

Baltimore (Jan. 26, 2011) -- Mariners are advised that Historic Ships in Baltimore has postponed the movement of their two museum vessels, the 312-foot submarine U.S.S. TORSK and the 199-foot sloop-of-war U.S.S. CONSTELLATION, in the Patapsco River within Baltimore Harbor, from the vessels’ berths in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor to the Sparrows Point Shipyard facility. The Torsk movement is scheduled on Thursday morning at 0900 a.m. on Jan 27 and the Constellation movement is scheduled on Friday morning at 0700 a.m. on Jan 28. The Vane Brothers Company is designated the towing company, with assistance provided from Smith & Sons Shipyard.
